Claydon High School

Examinations Information

Claydon High School currently offers a wide range of GCSE subjects with the awarding bodies AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and WJEC Eduqas.  We also deliver BTEC Level 1/2 Awards, OCR National awards and WJEC Eduqas Level 1/2 Awards.

All qualification exams and assessments and Year 11 Internal exams are carried out under the Joint Council for Qualification (JCQ) regulations.

Coronavirus Updates:

GCSE Exam Timetable – 2021

The Government have confirmed that the 2021 GCSE external exams will be delayed by 3 weeks. These will start on Monday 7th June until 2nd July, apart from 1 English paper and 1 maths paper, which will be timetabled during the week of 24th May.

A full timetable will be posted here when this is available from the awarding bodies.

Results day has also been put back to Friday 27th August 2021


ANNOUNCEMENT for last year’s Year 11 regarding collecting certificates.

We will soon be sending out a letter to you to explain how you can book a time to come in and collect your certificates and any coursework items. This will also give you an opportunity to return borrowed revision materials and library books you may still have.

This will be during the week of 16th November.

As part of our ongoing Covid-19 arrangements for school and visiting communities safety, you will be asked to wear a mask, arrive just before the time agreed, and come on your own.

Candidate Exam Handbook 2019-20

Internal Exam Timetables:

Year 11 have internal exams for this year are going to be carried from 23rd January up until the end of term on 18th February. 

Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 would usually have internal 'end of year assessments' at the end of the summer term. However, dates have yet to be agreed following the delay to GCSE exams for summer 2021.

Non-examined Assessment (NEA)

Any work, either written or practical, that is externally set by the awarding body and internally assessed in school is classified as a non-examination assessment. The NEA is used by an awarding body to assess essential knowledge and skills that cannot be evidenced through a written examination.

We only retain uncollected certificates for a short period. If you have not collected your certificates or you need a replacement please use the appropriate links below to apply for these directly with the awarding body. The school cannot reissue any certificates.
