Duke of Edinburgh Award

On the weekend of the 23rd March, 40 Bronze DofE students were involved in training for their forthcoming expedition weekends. The training involved learning and developing skills in first aid, map reading, kit preparation, packing rucksacks, designing menus, using cooking equipment and pitching tents. The most challenging part of the weekend was working out how to pack away the Trangia stoves! Students have now planned their walking routes for the practice expedition on the weekend of the 11th May on the coast near Aldeburgh, we have our fingers crossed for good weather.

I would like to sincerely thank the PTA and local organisations for their kind donations, we have managed to raise over £3000 to purchase maps and equipment.
