Parent Teacher Association and Parent Forum

“Working together for our children’s future”

AIMS

  1. To enable parents and carers to feel valued and included in the school community and have a voice regarding their children’s learning experience
  2. To support and value the school and its staff in their pursuit to enable our children to be the best they can be
  3. To raise money to provide resources, opportunities and experiences to enrich our children’s education

The PTA is a small but dedicated group of parents/carers and staff. We meet twice a term, once to plan and organize events etc. (this is held at the school) and once to catch up and brainstorm ideas (this is held at the pub)!

We run a number of events such as Quiz Nights and a Christmas Grand Prize Draw but also have other ways of raising money such as the 100 Club and ‘easyfundraising.com’. In addition, we help out at school events and do the obligatory cake baking!

We are always keen to welcome new members and grateful for any support - there are plenty of ways to get involved. Coming along to meetings and events also provides an opportunity to hear what is happening at school and offer your views and insight. You can also do this at the Parent Forum which meets once a term on a Wednesday at 4pm.

If you would like to get involved or just find out a bit more about the PTA, please contact Katherine Sparrow via the school at admin@claydonhigh.com or come along to our next meeting or event. We look forward to hearing from you.

 THE 100 CLUB

What is a 100 Club?

A 100 Club is a way of fundraising. Individuals buy a number for £1 a month and the collected amount is divided between the cause and the winners every month.  A great opportunity to raise funds for the school with a chance to win a cash prize.

Who can join?

Anyone, as long as they are over the age of 16. We operate under a Small Society Licence and are registered with Mid Suffolk District Council. Parents, carers, staff, governors, grandparents, members of the community — everyone is welcome to join.

How does our 100 Club work?

Our year runs from October to July. Members are invited to buy a number(s) at the start of the year for £10 each, equivalent to £1 a month for 10 months. Numbers can also be bought throughout the year paying the remainder of the year at £1 a month.

50% of the money for each month is given to the PTA and 50% is given to the prize fund for the draw. Of the total prize fund (which can vary each month depending on new members joining) 1st prize = 50%, 2nd prize = 30% and 3rd prize = 20%. With 100 members the first prize would be £25.

On the third Monday of each month the draw will take place at the school staff briefing, allocating  numbers for first, second and third prizes. The numbers will be returned back into the draw each month meaning members can win more than once in a year. If the third Monday falls in a school holiday it will take place on the closest available Monday. Dates are published on the PTA page of the school website .

After each draw the PTA will let the winners know so they can collect their prize from the school office.

At the end of the school year members will be invited to buy their numbers again.
