Claydon High School

Teacher of Religious Studies

Full time – MPR to UPR

Required for September 2019

‘Be the best you can be’

"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." (Nelson Mandela)

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher to teach Religious Education across both key stages.  The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching their subject, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and will contribute to our whole school development and the raising of standards.

Religious Studies has been delivered by colleagues in the Humanities Faculty and we are excited to be in a position to appoint a subject specialist with the hope of introducing a GCSE qualification in the future.  The successful candidate will be joining a successful, hard-working and supportive faculty and working with the rest of the team in improving student outcomes further.  Due to the size of the school and the nature of the timetable, colleagues may need to be able to offer a second subject within the faculty area.  The successful candidate will ideally be looking to contribute to the extra-curricular programme and able to demonstrate an innovative and interactive style of teaching.

This post would be suitable for a new entrant to the profession or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience.  Claydon High School, in liaison with local providers, provide an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff.  NQTs will be paid for working in July if they are available to come into school at the end of the summer term.  We pride ourselves on our positive hardworking ethos and collegiate atmosphere.

Claydon High School is a popular mixed comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich, easily accessed from the A12 and A14.

We look forward to hearing from you.
