Required for September 2017
What is the probability you are the right person to join our successful Mathematics and Computing faculty?
GCSE results in Mathematics have risen over 10% in the last three years; in 2016 75% of students achieved A*-C and 81% making expected levels of progress with 20% achieving A-A*. As a school we are proud of what our students have achieved and want to continue to build upon this success in the future.
The Mathematics Faculty are a hardworking team who work collaboratively to support student attainment and to develop exciting approaches to teaching and learning in Mathematics and Computing lessons across the key stages. As well as a programme of intervention and supported study, the team has delivered Further Maths, Functional Skills, Junior and Intermediate Maths Challenge, KS2 support including Primary Maths Roadshows and Coding Club as well as varied trips and contributions to the wider life of the school. We would like the successful candidate to further enhance the enrichment opportunities offered by the faculty and to be able to demonstrate an innovative and interactive style of teaching.
We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner to work within the strong team we have as they move forward. The successful candidate must be passionate about teaching, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and supporting whole school development and the raising of standards.
This post would be suitable for a new entrant to the profession or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience. Claydon High School and Suffolk LA provide an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff and NQTs will be paid for working hours in July if they are available to come into school at the end of the summer term. We pride ourselves on our positive hardworking ethos and collegiate atmosphere.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. Although a small secondary school, we pride ourselves on our positive hardworking ethos, collegiate atmosphere and commitment to the continuing professional development of all staff.
We look forward to hearing from you.
